How to Begin “The Taken Path” Assignment
Step 1: Find The Taken Blight In The Nether
Step I: Launch Into The Nether Activity
- A strange Taken Blight attached to a strut on the ceiling near the start of the Hall of Souls.
- Using your Ghost to trigger platforms that become visible as you approach.
- Dive into the Blight to enter the Blighted Cyst.
Step 2: Blighted Cyst Puzzle Solution
- Inside, there’s a green barrier, a rune, a directional plate, and a Taken portal.
- Stand on the plate until a symbol appears, directing the player in a given direction (e.g., “whispers to the right”).
- Shoot the rune and take off in the indicated direction to teleport past the barrier.
- Revolve the table to collect a Taken Osseous Fragment.
Step 3: Go to Eris Morn’s Shaping Slab
- Go to your apartment on the Tangled Shore and visit the Shaping Slab to obtain “The Taken Path” quest.
- Make sure you’ve unlocked the Scotopic Rune in the Runic Enhancement menu.
Appropriate Release of Taken Osseous Fragments
Lost Sector Location (Moon): K1 Revelation
- Head to Sorrow’s Harbor, and enter the K1 Revelation Lost Sector.
- Find a small Taken Blight, shoot it, and step on the rune plate that’s next to it.
- Follow the prompt to summon Taken enemies and defeat them for the first fragment.
Lost Sector: Veles Labyrinth (Cosmodrome)
- Head to the Forgotten Shore and go inside the Veles Labyrinth Lost Sector.
- Collect the second fragment by finding the rune plate, following the prompt, and defeating spawning Taken enemies.
Completing the Curse Quests
Once you’ve got both fragments, head back to Eris’ Shaping Slab to unlock three Curse Quests:
Curse of Endurance
- In Sorrow’s Harbor, collect the Taken Relic and kill enemies to charge it.
- Once fully charged, dunk it at the pickup point.
Curse of Urgency
- Collect the Taken Relic in Hallowed Grove Lost Sector (EDZ).
- Kill the Shadow of Oryx within the time limit.
Curse of Revenge
- Complete the Nightmare Hunt: Pride on the Moon.
Where to Find Hive Statues in The Nether
- Go back to The Nether and find hidden Hive statues in each zone.
- Engage with them and defeat the minibosses that spawn.
- Collect the dropped fragments.
Finishing the Exotic Mission Called “Derealize”
Once all side objectives are finished, the “Derealize” mission unlocks. This final step involves:
- Fighting Tormentors and enemies belonging to the Dread faction.
- Using Taken Relics to buff curses and deal damage to the final boss.
